It was a unique event and a huge success...the
British Open American Miniature Horse Show...
The UKAMHS was proud to bring the first full
AMHA show ever held in Gt. Britain with a
truly International feel. Entries came from
all parts of the UK, Ireland, France, Germany
and the Netherlands.
"Events like this have been a regular
scene in Mainland Europe for years. It is
has been long overdue but now in this country
we can have the same opportunity to show
our American Miniature Horses at an affiliated
show with a full and proper class list.
Since taking over the UKAMHS and also
since becoming the AMHA Honorary Director
for the UK, I have been determined to make
this happen. The support of those who attended
and those from overseas made this show the
success that it was.
My thanks to the people who helped me. Claudia
Vermeullen from the Netherlands who was a
perfect Ring Steward. Dennis Kuijpers for
being the Gate Steward both of you for being
so friendly to the competitors and making
them feel at ease.
Thank you to the International Competitors
who gave lots of advice and help to anyone
who asked. Also, our judge Pat Burton from
Texas who made everyone feel comfortable.
Most of all thank you to the sponsors and
particpants for making it a memorable show."

After the show a free Buffet was put on by
the UKAMHS for the sponsors, competitors,
Judge and show officials. This was a chance
to relax and unwind, make new friends and
generally have a good time.
The official show photographer was Maaike
De Vries from the Netherlands, who we flew
in to give the show a special touch. Maaike's
pictures can be viewed on her website http://www.maaikedevries.nl/
The show will be back next year and will
hopefully become bigger and better each time.
